PHP Developer (WordPress) Required


This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dedicated development role in a small, busy creative design studio with a team of designers, animators and developers based in the beautiful market town of Cowbridge, approx 8 miles outside of Cardiff in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan.
You’ll be working on developing wonderful WordPress websites for our varied range of clients across all market sectors and locations across the UK.

The work will vary from day to day, with a range of requests from all areas of the business providing a stimulating creative environment.

We work full time from Monday to Friday and have flexible working hours available.

Working in a close and friendly team and reporting directly to the creative directors, you will help us to research, code, build, test and deploy a variety of WordPress websites with a range of innovative features. Other tasks will be to support and trouble-shoot existing client sites, respond swiftly and efficiently to support enquires, bugs, offering technical support too.


Your main duties will be based around developing beautiful WordPress websites, new functions, features, or adapting and updating, evolving existing ones with new functions and features.
Although you’ll spend a lot of your time writing code, no two days will be the same.


We are a small busy studio but will have a large number of ambitious projects to work on and need somebody to join us who can contribute from day one. Through this role, you will gain significant exposure to the business and therefore the ability to agree and prioritise complex workloads and effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders from Directors, Managers, Suppliers and Clients will be essential.
Ideally you will have at least 3 years similar industry experience, degree level qualifications preferred.


Thorough knowledge of the Wordpres CMS framework (Utilising ACF within the build)
Proven record of working with PHP
Understanding and knowledge of development with Bootstrap 4
Working knowledge of web languages including HTML5, Jqery, CSS3
Third party API integration understanding and experience (JSON )
Experience in using GIT or similar version control system
An enthusiasm for Code, Styling and UX
Knowledge of Website deployment, Linux Servers,
Understanding of Jira workflow software or similar tool

£25,000 – £30,000 per year (dependant on experience)



Normal hours of employment shall be 9am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays
May from time to time be required to work such additional hours – arranged in advance.



Normal duties will include (but are not exclusive to)…
Creation of CMS WordPress website developments
using php, jquery and MYSQL (See Techical skills)
Client liaison and production management
Maintenance and upgrades of existing client websites
Maintenance and Management of company servers and the website
accounts on them (including monitoring /Maintenance out of hours /
weekends if required)


20 days holiday per calendar year at full pay, in addition to the normal public
holidays. Holidays must be taken at a time that is convenient to the Employer and
no more than 2 weeks’ holiday may be taken at any one time.
